We, as a nation, face a harrowing dilemma that demands a rigorous and honest appraisal of our history, our leaders, and ourselves. It seems that a reckoning is fast approaching, one that may determine the fate of this republic. This precarious moment beckons us to action and places upon the people a solemn obligation to fulfill their civic duty. It is a formidable undertaking, undoubtedly, and one that will truly test the American spirit and fortitude.
We find ourselves amid turmoil and desperation akin to that faced by Washington at the Battle of Long Island. Trapped between the enemy and salvation, Washington would escape into the wilderness to find solitude and pray for his soldiers and the birth of the nation. Alas, a fateful fog lay over Washington and his 9,000 soldiers that night, allowing them to retreat and ensuring the continuance of the Revolution. In that moment, we find an overture to heed the call of our forefathers, to summon the temper of Washington, and to embrace our providential calling.
The genesis of our modern quagmire is rooted in a convoluted mixture of political tug of war, nefarious actors, nebulous motivations, corruption, the growth of bureaucracy, foreign and special interests, and incompetence. Distrust of U.S. leaders and government has rarely been greater. It is the product of repeated broken promises and blatant corruption. The average American feels powerless, struggles to make ends meet, and increasingly fails to find meaning in a continually deteriorating society. Our nation’s leaders have off shored jobs and imported labor, routinely undermined the middle class, proven incompetent, and burdened our governing systems with layers of bureaucracy.
We can analyze the floundering economy, failing monetary policies, or bureaucratic systems, but doing so alone would fail to grasp the underlying issue. Beneath these symptoms lies a deeper and more fundamental struggle, one that touches the very nature of mankind. We wrestle against powers, against principalities, and against the darker impulses of human nature. Our home, our nation, has become a conglomeration of values alien to its founding principles, obscuring the American dream beneath them. An insidious specter seems to lord it over our once honest leadership, siphoning away the prosperity of the common folk. To what can we attribute our current predicament? On whom can we lay the blame? When and where did it all go wrong? And most importantly, what is our role at this impasse?
Our purpose at The Liberty Tree Society is to appeal to the men and women of this nation to take up their civic duty, to preserve our cultural inheritance, to promote traditional values, and to foster a strong and enduring American national identity. We believe that meaningful change must begin as a grassroots movement. That we, as individuals, must examine ourselves, accept our responsibilities, and take action to correct our nation’s course. If our leaders cannot be trusted to bring about positive change for the country, then it becomes our obligation to intercede and become part of the solution. Our sovereignty, national cohesion, and cultural continuity are of the utmost importance, and we are resolved to restore the American dream and preserve the American nation for generations to come.
